The origin of Vourvourou’s is traced back in the ancient years. The oldest indication of mankind presence are traced in Paleolithical time and as we get to modern years, things are more clear. More specific, the huge natural port of Vourvourou is related to the ancient town Siggos, from which the Siggitikos was named after. Since the Roman time, not only the peninsula of Vourvourou but it’s islands there were luxurous states. Feeling like a small Venice. In the Byzantine season, Vourvourou was a part of Agio Oros place and used for wood, olive production, wine production and fish production in Livari (which in Byzantinian means a place were there is fish). Later, Vourvourou steadily comes to the Agios Nikolaos dominion, the most flourishing village of the region.
